Quilted Gifts

Karen Myers and a group of women she quilts with donated over 40 quilts to the homeless program for families and students. The blankets went quickly to both homeless families and unaccompanied youth in the school district; parents and kids were so thankful to have the quilts! Thank you to the quilting ladies for your gift!

White City Glass South Keeps a Family Warm This Winter

A big THANK YOU goes to White City Glass South and Mark Leiviska for donating 2 windows and the repair to a newly-housed family. The windows were beautifully done and they were very happy to see this family have a warmer home to live in, especially as the cold weather sets in.

One Full-size Mattress Still Needed for Beacon House

We received many bed donations, but one set is still incomplete!

We need 1 full-size mattress for a bed that will be donated to Beacon House. We already have the frame and box spring.

Mattress must be gently used- no rips or stains, and must be generally clean. They may also be looking for more beds- feel free to call Beacon House with donation questions (715) 834-4357.

Please let me know if you can help!

Thank You for the Beds!

A big thank you to Marie & Larry Past, Kirk (The King's Closet), Doris Strong, Carol Claesges, and Chippewa Valley Furniture Direct!

Not only did these donors provide enough donations to give our family 2 bunk beds, they also gave extras beds that we were able to donate to The Beacon House :)

Thank you to everyone involved- your donations are now providing a homeless (or recently homeless) student a warm and comfortable place to sleep!

Anonymous Donors Give 86 Winter Coats!!

A wonderful woman and her husband brought in 86 winter coats yesterday, most of which have matching snowpants, to the district office along with two large bags of socks and underwear.

Although they've asked that we not give them recognition publicly, we were there to accept the donations and give out hugs and handshakes for their generous gift.

These coats will not only go to homeless students, but to other students in the district that are in great need of winter gear.

Many thanks to this husband and wife for their kindness!

Running For Charity

The ECASD Homeless Program was fortunate to receive a big donation of school supplies purchased with the generous donations for a woman with a cause... or twelve?

Sarah Newcomb runs a 5K every day to raise money for a different charity each month, and she has vowed to do this for 12 months! She chose the ECASD Homeless Program as the charity recipients for August, and many vital items were purchased for the program with the money she raised.

Thank you to Sarah for all her hard work and to the generous donors who give to her cause!

If you'd like more information, please visit her website: http://www.supportsarahsrun.com/

Household Items Needed

We celebrate a family who has moved out of their homeless situation and ask for your help.

The family is in great need of household items, most importantly pots & pans, cups, plates, and silverware, a twin bed and other furniture.

Please contact Randy Richter (715-852-4003 or rrichter@ecasd.k12.wi.us) at Meadowview Elementary if you are able to donate.

Thank you for any donations you can provide :)

We need school supplies!!!!

It's that time of year and we're gearing up to prepare for the homeless students who will be in need of school supplies this fall. The stores are having their big sales and we're hoping that when you're out shopping, you would be willing to grab a little extra for our homeless kiddos. We're especially in need of: pocket folders, markers (thick and thin), colored pencils, regular pencils, calculators, 1-inch binders, and wide-ruled notebooks. Please contact Dani Claesges (dclaesges@ecasd.k12.wi.us or 715-852-3044) if you'd like to donate.
